is home to Burrell School District students in grades 9-12.
The Burrell High School Principal is Mr. John Boylan and the

 BURRELL HIGH SCHOOL SUMMARY

With an enrollment of over 700 students in grades 9-12, Burrell High School offers a diverse selection of academic and vocational subjects and extracurricular activities to meet the needs of ALL students. The principal and assistant principal serve as instructional leaders for the professional faculty, 59% percent of which have been awarded a master's degree or higher. In addition, Burrell High School is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and the Department of Education of Pennsylvania.

With a strong emphasis on academics, Burrell High School offers Honors, College in the High School and Advanced Placement courses in English, Economics, Government, Spanish and French.  Burrell High School also offers a Dual Enrollment Program for students, which allows them to earn college credits through courses at Penn State -New Kensington.   In addition, an active National Honor Society, Math Team, and many other clubs and organizations that include co-curricular experiences, provide academic enrichment for BHS students.  The Gifted Program offers a diverse academic and cultural learning environment.

Students who are interested in pursuing careers in technical or vocational fields attend Northern Westmoreland Career and Technology Center.  NWCTC offers twelve exciting programs including Auto Mechanics Technology, Carpentry, Commercial Art, Computer Technology, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Electronics Technology, Machine Tool Technology, Marketing, Masonry, Health Occupations, and Welding.

Burrell High School also offers many opportunities for students to participate in the Fine Arts. Students interested in music participate in a variety of award winning programs such as marching band, concert and jazz band, and chorus.  Likewise students interested in Theatre Arts can take part in the fall play as well as the yearly musical production.   

Burrell's athletic tradition is one of prestige and excellence. We offer 16 athletic programs with over 300 students participating in at least one sport. Year after year, our athletic teams reach above and beyond their best to bring home winning seasons and championships and provide a great source of pride for the community.  During the 2007-2008 school year Burrell High School was represented in PIAA championships in Baseball and Wrestling.
