Burrell High School Presents...A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum HS Musical

March 12, 13 & 14th.

Broadway's greatest farce is light, fast-paced, witty, irreverent and one of the funniest musicals ever written. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum takes comedy back to its roots, combining situations from time-tested, 2000-year-old comedies of Roman playwright, Plautus, with the infectious energy of classic vaudeville.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum is a nonstop laughfest in which Pseudolus, a crafty slave, struggles to win the hand of a beautiful, but slow-witted, courtesan named Philia for his young master, Hero, in exchange for freedom. The plot twists and turns with cases of mistaken identity, slamming doors, and all sorts of hilarity.

This unforgettable, hysterical musical allows a terrific ensemble of comedic actors to shine – "something for everyone, a comedy tonight!"

Family Engagement Seminars

Meaningful and informed family involvement is a powerful predictor of student success. Students attain more when schools and families work together!
Students whose families are involved in their education typically receive higher grades and test scores, complete more homework, have better attendance, and exhibit more positive attitudes and behaviors. Children of involved families also graduate at higher rates and are more likely to enroll in post-secondary education programs.

Bucco Badge Incentive Program

Stewart Elementary will continue the “Bucco Badge” incentive program for the 2018-2019 school year. The "Bucco Badge" program awards decorative dog tags to students for a variety of reasons. Each Friday, recipients are announced and presented with a dog tag award for; being on the honor roll, winning a design challenge, completing math fact reviews on "Extra Math", being nominated for the "Stewart Pride" award, or completing the 10 book challenge. Dog tags can also be earned through positive behavior.  Dog tag chains are kept in the classroom for the school year, and can be taken home on the last day of school. Students can wear their dog tags on Friday's.
